There aren't many signals on the railway yet: but the intention is to have colour light signals, set automatically as trains move. So when a train passes a signal mast, the signal will go red; when the points in the track ahead aren't set correctly, the signal will go red. CML Electronics' SIGM20 will do all this, and more.

Each SIGM20 will drive 8 signals. The boards will be distributed around the railway, and in reality not all drive 8 signals. All the signals will be LED powered, and common cathode if possible (not that it matters).

In the fiddle yard, there are small signals inserted into the baseboard. This is because  it isn't a scenic region, but a train "driver" still needs to know when to start. Small signals made from 3mm red/amber/green LEDs have been assembled using veroboard, and mounted into the baseboard to the left of each track.
